To put it into TB’s words…”how many days are we doing 3 shots for??”…my response about 2 weeks!
Today we added the Menopur to our injection list. This is the one where you get to mix saline and the powder with this special little tip and then inject it.
So between dialing in the Follistim, prepping the Lupron, and mixing the Menopur. We have a full scale medical operation taking place in my bathroom each morning. Here is a little snapshot of what 6:45am will look like at our house for the next 2 weeks. Crazy!
Since we are looking into surrogacy that puts us in the “egg donor” camp per the FDA which means more tests and documentation. Today I had the last of my FDA blood work…7 vials of blood and my personal favorite was the urine test that required me to set an alarm for 5am to go to the bathroom since I couldn’t go 2 hours prior to my appt and you know how you have to go first thing when you wake up. Glamorous I tell you! I was happy to have forgotten that I didn’t have to get an U/T this visit so was pleasantly surprised when I arrived for my appt. Now we wait for another call to see if we need to modify any of the dosages.
Next appt is Friday then it looks like I will start going daily for bloodwork and U/T so they can monitor the progress of the egg development and determine the right time for the trigger shot.
As for the side effects, I have come to terms with the bloating it was just a hard adjustment at first. I seem to be getting good sleep again. The emotions are in check as well as they can be with everything going on- I must admit each day this is becoming more real and the excitement is building at the possibilities. A bonus is the headaches seem to go away when I workout so giving me a little extra motivation to get active and in the gym which my body can feel it for sure, 3 days in a row at The Dailey Method! OUCH!
